@mushroom_soup I thought it was bad that there were adults who lived alone and didn't know how to cook. I had no idea it could be so much worse...The guy doesn't even make another attempt. It's literally "coffee machine too complicated, back to buying McCafe." Instead of actually trying to educate himself and learn a new basic skill, he just gives up.I have to question how someone like that manages to hold a job, let alone a career. if he just gives up on everything.

@dave I think that we've put far too much trust in centralized platforms. Facebook and Twitter have the ability to massively influence what people see should they choose to. The scariest part is, they could do all this without anyone knowing. People think that Twitter bans are bad, but at least you know when it happens unlike getting deranked in the algorithm.

Men have to spend their time thinking about what women will think of them. Even if a man is not actively seeking a wife/girlfriend, there still exists a biological impulse to act differently (more confident, impressive, polite etc.) around women.Women have been conditioned to expect this kind of behavior to the point where they see any deviation from it as misogyny. For instance: women playing games who claimed to be “sexually harassed” over ingame voice chat were, in reality, experiencing what men do for fun with each other, insulting the shit out of each other! Of course, these insults are different with women but it’s still the same thing on a fundamental level.Male-only workplaces are seriously needed. I think it would result in higher productivity for everyone involved. Feminism is an incredible cancer on society, it has caused us to completely destroy the symbiosis that existed between men and women.One of the best ways to know that our generation of men are weak, is that, instead of pushing back against everything that happens, they just accept the world as it is. We won’t say in person (especially not around women) that women should not be allowed to vote, despite the undeniable damage that women voting has caused. I admit that I’m part of the problem in that regard, though more in fear of retaliation from other men than disapproval from women.

@dave I was on a train once and a woman called her boyfriend to break up with him. Loudly, not even the slightest attempt to speak softly on a train near 30 other people (many of whom were trying to sleep). A lot of people really have a hard time being considerate.As for why he did it during a flight, I imagine two possible scenarios:He’s somewhat abusive/sadistic and wanted the break-up to be uncomfortable for her.The relationship was really shitty and there was a lack of communication about issues. which led to his “breaking point” where he felt that he couldn’t wait any longer.Scenario 2 actually seems somewhat likely. It’s easy to reach a point when you’re kinda on the fence about ending a relationship (not limited to romance), and have a moment of clarity where you realize that you won’t ever be happy in the relationship. You realize that if you don’t end it immediately, you’ll simply hesitate further and prolong your suffering.It seems like, if that were the case, he could have waited at least until landing.
