       re LB: oh my god! one of my cats developed this! he was one of the ones that had full-on tonic-clonic seizures, complete with a dopey half hour afterwwards (once he spent the next half hour walking around in clockwise circles, but usually he'd just seem a bit out of it) and it seemed to be in response to certain sounds - at least sometimes. in particular, once i was stirring some soup, i think, in a cup... i didn't think it was usual, but i didn't know it was unknown at the time!funny thing, though. the last few months of his life, when the vet and i were fairly sure he'd developed bowel cancer but he was too frail to find out for certain, it abated

       he also tended to have myoclonic jerks, for most of his life. since i also do, this occasionally led to nights where we'd wake each other up by having myocloni in rapid succession

       pro tip, by the way: do not cradle your cat as they have a seizure. not unless you're wearing a leather jacket (that you don't mind getting perforated) or something.it wasn't so much the claws going into my arm, more the trying to get them out afterwards...
