My reaction to the past three years finding out everyone I liked is lowkey and highkey part of the #AltRight, with the most recent being #RPI:When the days are coldAnd the cards all foldAnd the saints we seeAre all made of goldWhen your dreams all failAnd the ones we hailAre the worst of allAnd the blood's run stale

@edendestroyer I mean, just because somebody doesn't share your politics or beliefs doesn't mean you can't like them...You can like people in spite of it. (And honestly nobody should care about politics so much that they can't stand people with opposing views :blobcatthink: )That's just my personal philosophy of course, do what you want, idk...

@Linux_in_a_Bit alt-right people refuse to act in good faith politically, as seen by people like jordan Peterson, Ben Shapiro, and the likes. To engage in a political discourse, the bare minimum that a person needs is a good faith attitude. Raspberrypi abused the good faith nature of the criticism and spread conspiracy theories about mastodon in the press.

@edendestroyer RaspberryPi's situation seems rather innocent, turned problematic by a bad response. The other people are a perfect example of how the loud minority influences public opinion on a large group. You never hear about the non extremist people on either side because the extremists are always the loudest. Why do you think "the right" hates "the left" and "the left" hates "the right" so much? They only hear the voices of the most irrational of the other side.

@Linux_in_a_Bit thats really not what's going on and you're misguided on the issue. I explained what I did, this isn't the case of tribalism nor is it a case of extremities. It is a case of foundational integrity, privacy & discourse, and institutional abuse of the crucial important social cultures.

@edendestroyerTrue, our collective ability to have reasonable discourse almost doesn't even exist anymore. This is partially due to social media algorithms, but there are likely other factors at play as well.

@edendestroyer Keep in mind that I said "our", not just *other side*. It's a universal problem in our society that we need to fix.
