       @nova YAML doesn’t have a well defined specification, so I don’t bother with it. I prefer stuff like TOML.As for NixOS, it’s neat but it’s undergoing heavy reforms and you should watch out.

       @nova I like to make fun of YAML, but, honestly, it’s not horrible. It allows for a lot of things JSON can’t do (comments, line breaks, etc.) I still like XML more than YAML, but I understand the difficulty in getting others to use XML.NixOS is hard. I have tried to use Nix numerous times, and it’s got a very steep learning curve that I’m told is worth it, but I’ve never gotten to a point where I feel like I understand anything that’s going on. The config is too confusing to me.

       @ramsey @nova NixOS is hard. A lot of that is due to documentation. It seems like a lot of stuff is best documented in various out of date blogs or forum posts. It's seriously cool once you do get it though.

       @ramsey @nova @jeff Highly recommend the nix pills series of articles if you haven't touched them. They were a huge help to me.
