Still playing through FFXIII, just got to Gran Pulse, the problem with this game was never how linear it is, linear isn't inherently a bad thing, the biggest issue is how stale some of the areas are. The Fifth Ark was a waste of time, it was just the same room repeated 100 times

@BrodieOnLinux the linearity is bad for a FF before you reach gran pulse.You can chose between left and right? Then one way has the treasure chest at the end and the other continues the story line.Maybe you like it, that's fine. But compare it with e.g. ff7-9 where you can usually leave a dungeon, do sidequests, battle a bit, maybe even play cards in ff8 or ff9.ff12 had NMs to beat and hunt in most places.All of those stories are still linear but feel open.What does ff13 have in that place?
