       Content Warnings on activating content helps people with severe mental illness survive. This is not a matter of censorship. I have never asked some to CW content, especially about their own experiences. You do you and what you need to thrive.But when people choose to add a CW, I’m able to take a breath and de-escalate my nervous system before and after reading something terrible about the word we live in. 1/x

       For me, as a person who is well medicated for a psychiatric condition, liberal use of CWs has allowed me to engage with more and not less. And, it allows me to engage without my brain falling into some very challenging places—places that generally lead to some level of suicidal ideation. I can’t—and won’t—speak for anyone else these days. But, speaking only for me, I am grateful each and every time someone I follow chooses to use a CW.
