I made the mistake of skimming the fediblock tag, and ... uh ... I have more questions.* How much does it cost per month to run a vanity server?** (Should I join a mini project to try and make that cheaper? Lord knows I have some professional experience in the area)* Should we expect "brands" to all run their own?* Should we expect USG to do so as well?* Should that be more turn-key to enable that?

Questions brought by "we should block infosec.exchg because CISA wants to post CVE warnings on social media"Like, I'm pretty strongly on team ACAB, but that seems to miss some key details: if your server is in the US outside of your house, the feds can already read whatever they want. There's no real additional information risk here.

Additional technical questions:How well would things scale with everyone having a private server?* Would moderation scale? (no, because now N people have to block the server, vs one server admin blocking the account locally)* Would storage scale? (No, N copies of each gif, because it doesn't seem like we've solved caching yet)* would IPC scale (???)What's the "right size" for an instance?

Given that it would surprise me if this scaled well to "infinite" servers, should we have aggressive "block your server because you host a single bad actor" policies that incentivize infinite-servers?Or should you just expect people to block Spies-R-Us on whatever server it's on because ACAB?
