The new UI for #Mastodon v4 sucks! The sidebar on mobile takes up space (making the images smaller), and to log out, you can't go to the menu tab, you have to go to settings, or to the compose menu.And on desktop, if your display is too small, you are not able to scroll to see the rest of the menu on the left, and if small enough, it will think it's a tablet and it will be a larger version of mobile.Personally, I'm staying right here on Mastodon v3, with glitch-soc. It's too bad a lot of instances already upgraded to v4, let alone staying on the default Mastodon.

@james The new UI is overall a step in the right direction (and incorporates some much-needed API changes), but I don't know what they were thinking with that mobile sidebar.

The new Mastodon interface (and the website) were probably written by Soydevs who wanted you do Download the App (oh gee) for Mastodon.

@james Vertically oriented interface using sidebar? Who could come up with that? 😲 Hiding it doesn't look like a good option. Can't you make it horizontal with uBO or custom css? I bet it's a minor change, but I'm not too fluent in CSS myself.
