@zhuowei if you ever want to shitpost, blog and have a fun time with a cursed piece of equipment get an FM10K based card (FM10840 is what I have). Amazing little thing with a big-endian Intel processor, no memory, but thousands of registers (plus Turing complete network processing engine at 100Gx6 wire speeds

@spacegoat I have no idea why it became popular. there are some threads arguing against using it (https://what.entire.website/notice/APraCRRXQszu9KmNQu) and even on the user experience side, its mobile app's sign-in-with-email page is completely broken (although the sign in with Google button works). I guess it's still an easier onboarding than Mastodon, though, with less decision paralysis from choosing a server.

@zhuowei Yeah, it seems like no one should *use* Hive. However, it allows duplicate usernames and doesn't allow searching for capitalized usernames/hashtags, which raises questions about what other unusual design decisions were made.
