What are your favorites? As so many do, I spend too much time commuting, and as much as I like listening to music, I have less sense that the time is "wasted" if I'm able to learn something, so history podcasts have been my go-to for a while. But this year I started listening to podcasts about music production and recording--that's part of what got me thinking about going that direction post-Army.So some of my favorites follow. What am I missing?

Sound Business with Akash Thakkar, a video game composer and sound designer, was actually my gateway into this world. From his site:"This is the podcast where I interview guests from every corner of the music and sound worlds. Educators, plug-in makers, game audio professionals, performers, touring musicians, and more all come together to show you how to 'make it' in the worlds of music and sound."https://www.akashthakkar.com/podcast

Akash's podcast introduced me to Twenty Thousand Hertz, "[t]he stories behind the world's most recognizable and interesting sounds."This one is just FANTASTIC. Amazing production quality, compelling storytelling, fascinating and diverse subject matter. I've learned a lot from it.https://20k.org

"Mixing Music is a podcast hosted by mix engineer, Dee Kei (@DeeKeiMixes) and Lu Moreno (@MasteredByLu). A show about mixing techniques, audio production, mindsets, business advice, and all things Dee Kei & Lu have learned and will continue to learn through their music careers."I wasn't as interested in this aspect of things, but I've learned a lot despite myself.https://www.deekeimixes.com/podcast

It was actually this Mixing Music episode that got me seriously thinking about pursuing audio engineering using those hard-won GI Bill benefits--and not necessarily at a university.https://www.deekeimixes.com/podcast/episode/1dd6f0b3/things-they-dont-teach-you-in-music-school-or-advice-for-audio-engineers-in-the-real-world
