       So Hive is trending and there are twitter influencers/ecelebs headed that way.I'm a little relieved. A separation between that group and the #fandom  groups on mastodon could be the start of the fourth wall coming back, and that's what I really want to see in fannish spaces.

       I can't recall how many times I've heard "I want to do [x] type of shipping fanart but I don't want the creators to see it." That boundary is necessary for #fandom

       @Weeble Fourth wall originally meant "fictional characters aware that they're fictional characters" but in fandom it also refers to the unofficial barrier between official media creators and those who create fanworks.

       @FuJoJo@fandom.ink I didn't know there was a term for it nor was it getting to be a problem.In general I think media can suffer when it tries to hard to appeal to fans, and while its nice to see a creator like or give feedback on fanworks I can see where that leads to issues.I think this kind of plays into that, but I made a post  ranting about a post I saw on tumblr complaining about hetalia bootlickers lol (people in the fandom who like/prefer the current canon interpretations of characters) and said hetalia sucks and my headcanons improve it and ur defending a guy that doesn't even care while and those who choose to make these extensive headcanons care and do more.Basically im seeing more ppl (especially younger/ppl who joined a fandom recently) showoff their OC/headcanons as better or "fixed" versions of canon and clash with other fans.
