@zhuowei Ayy! that also means I can check Mastodon feed on my Samsung dumb phone as well!It has Opera Mini and it will pull up RSS feeds fine (although images are illegible in most cases)

@xolagix I considered doing a POP3 to Mastodon proxy so I can use Outlook Express or even, say, the Mobile Game Boy Adapter to check Mastodon, but then I found that Microsoft Outlook 2007 supported RSS natively and it was too funny not to use

@zhuowei @n0toose Yes. Fully featured Outlook, Office 2021 included. Sadly, this is considered a premium feature by Microsoft, so no support for this in either Outlook Express or Windows Mail.

Mastodon is more like a modernized version of a collection of listservs. Imagine that in some future you move from the earth (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, etc.) To a rock in the asteroid belt. You now live in a small community on the station on that asteroid and can talk to people on other asteroids. That is Mastodon.
