       Moving from aura to paru since it’s objectively more reliable and comes with defaults I like more, although I’m used to Aura’s workflow being exactly like pacman but with an A

       Also just noticed Arch is dinally on OpenSSL 3… which is breaking some AUR packages which assume libcrypto.so.1.1 is therelol

       @xerz you can use downgrade on the SSL package until dependencies are fixed

       To be fair, aura is only missing one major thing to make it reliable, which is proper AUR dependency resolution………… hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

       @xerz@fedi.xerz.one @ioletsgo@wetdry.world meanwhile i do not have to deal with this stuff because all dependencies are built on my computer

       @GNUxeava @ioletsgo ….that just means it’s you who needs to directly take care of dependencies and their complexity, not that you don’t… if you wanted to forget altogether you’d use Nix and instead have to deal with the complexity of writing config files and where to leave what :blobcatthink:

       @GNUxeava @xerz you're a masochist, and that's coming from an arch user.

       @ioletsgo @FinnleyDolfin particularly, it requires constant maintenance, understanding about how dependencies work, and being able to troubleshoot issues if something breaksyes, there’s distros which need none of the above

       @ioletsgo @xerz probably by today’s standards when there’s other distros which boot up straight to a desktop and an app-store like package manager.My first distro came on floppies I got from COMDEX 1996 and Arch is very reminiscent of that experience. d:
