Sorry, but I hate thisWhy does #tusky add this blue checkmark here? It is kinda worthless here on fedi because everyone can add it in their username. Just make the entire section green, so I know it is not a emoji

@selea @Tusky probably something to look into, that seems easily misused.

@selea that check is to verify that the website actually belongs to that user, it's not about "Twitter-like" user verification

@samuel I think things should be consistent. You cant trust any username with the :verified: icon, why should I trust it there?

@selea I was trying to point out that the checkmark is there because of the website verification, so there's no need for anything else, I didn't know that you can add emotes in those fields soyou're right, it should have a different colour and if possible highlight ALL the text so there's no way it can be replicated with emotes sorry (´-﹏-`;)

@selea True. One has to know that the profile page links differ. Which is not obvious

@Lorewaifu Yeah I am familiar with the verification process, but I dont like that Tusky defaults to an emoji like :verified: that means absolutely nothing in the fediverse.

@ishter86 @selea I would think an instance admin line @selea knows that, this is about how this is presented in #Tusky

@selea Isn't that the same as you have the green checkmark on your profile if you look in web? It's there because you have a link back to your profile, in effect, the website is verified to belong to your username.

@sa0bse I am against that they use emoticons at all here. You cant trust them here on fedi.:verified:

@selea Yeah, the green background is better when looking at someones profile. Sure, someone can *modify* their instance to lie. However if you look at someones profile on your own instance you have a bit of trust there.I'm not sure if the verification is done by your own instance if you look at someones elses profile from a remote on your your instance though.
