@teknomunk @Jim @specimen73 They don't need to ban the items, they just need to ban the exchanges. Anyone interacting with money transfers is heavily regulated and can be easily shut down. Choke off the flow of fiat into crypto, and you reduce its impact into near irrelevance. There would be overseas and crypto-to-crypto exchanges, but no institutional money, and no mass of normie money.

If it is, .gov will have to shoot people to have any chance to stop people from protecting their earnings. It wasn't 100% effective (people still hoarded some gold), but it was effective enough to kill gold as currency even after they nominally brought it back.The government doesn't have to shoot anyone to shut down exchanges, they just need to get SWIFT to ban them and lean on 3 credit card companies. There will still be exchanges and crypto holders out there--nobody can ever stop or trace my Monero--but they'll be effectively removed from the economy.
