@cle i don't want to sound grim, but everyone should be a #climate activist to die well. Western societies refuse to acknowledge life is finite, and therefore lead miserable pointless lives. Once you think about the meaning of #life itself, there is no other way than living aligned with one's own values. Most people here pretend they have none. Until they are taken away from them. Good on you for not wasting precious time! ✊🏽

@cle I appreciate a second of having electricity, internet, five 9s of uptime, pork, chicken, a warm house made of concrete, and a livestream of a space rocket way more, than I appreciate a second of not having any of these, and not having any hope they will return in my lifetime.

@wolf480pl @cle I mean, if you live, you will be able to find other things to appreciate. Growing through our life is a good thing, and sometimes the things we enjoy need to go. Cigarettes are one example of that, so is racism and sexism. We aren't all the way yet, but when people give up these comforts, it's not the end of the world.And if we don't give up some of our current comforts now, we might have to give up all of them later.

@wolf480pl @cle I'm not an expert, but maybe?We've lived without them in the past, and we are pretty good at finding better ways of doing things.You yourself posted a meme last week about the just fun part of computing is the LAN parties, and it's not like they ever had five nines of uptime.

@mu @cle in a way, the LAN parties had 100% uptime. There was no power outage that interrupted them.Moreover, we didn't have to plan take weather or daylight into account when planning those.
