Hello. Could someone with the spoons for it favourite, reply, or boost this toot please. I'm trying to determine if there is lag in notifications between apps.

@swamptin I've definitely noticed a delay between apps, and between apps and the web

@andrasteYeah, it's interesting alright. I noticed it this morning when Tusky had a notification on my phone time stamped an hour later than fedilab. And this test has shown me that too. I will get the updates in my notifications tab when it refreshes, but the toast message to my head not yet appeared. 🤷🏼♂️

@swamptin weird. I know that Tusky also only does fetch notifications, rather than push, so that they can keep it completely FOSS, and not use Google code. I keep the default app running to get pushes because of that I've also seen delays based on what instance the notifications are coming from, with notifications from heavier load places taking longer

@andrasteThat makes sense alright. Stuff needs to filter and it's limited by the bandwidth of a given instance. I may be switching back to fedilab as my app for this network. Might give Tusky a bit more of a play, but it's off to a losing start IMHO.

@andraste @swamptin After the upgrade to Mastodon 4, things have felt sluggish. I turned on some of its new automatic cleanup tasks and wonder if they’re bogging things down temporarily, but it’s not easy to tell.

@tekI don't think that's what's affecting my experience, but if you want me to run some tests for you, hollar at me. @andraste
