       @BrodieOnLinux Lately it has been "Arch does something: Chaos ensues". They really need to improve their communication. Arch is no longer just used by just hardcore #Linux users.

       @BrodieOnLinux You've been on the ball lately, so my update process usually starts by hearing about some issue from you, and builds on whatever observations you make.I agree it's a little odd how slow or irregular some organisations are in maintaining their news feeds. Seems there is an infection in parts of the FOSS space of the corporate mentality that saying literally anything constitutes a legally binding promise, and so some maintainers are afraid to keep their users in the loop.

       @BrodieOnLinux "We are aware of the problem, we are working on a solution, there is no timeframe as of yet" is a perfectly good update to give. Or in a case like this, "we are aware of the problem, it is entirely outside of our control, but here is a path toward finding a solution" as in the reddit post you show. But as you say, it seems a little odd that this appeared on reddit instead of in the actual news feed.
