Wow, @stux 💥 Btw, using https://fedifinder.glitch.me, we found >1000 #Mastodon users for the first time today, which we now followed in the #Fediverse with export/import via CSV in one go.In addition to bad sales figures (https://mashable.com/article/twitter-blue-elon-musk-subscriber-numbers), there also seems to be a certain amount of "voting with the feet"... @stux That's wild! I'm glad I opted to use Cloudflare to keep the costs down. Out of the 900GB I've used this week 794GB was cached so only about 200GB usage for Hetzner this month.

@effin_izzy @stux The official app was designed with the flagship instance in mind. mstdn.social is technically using Glitch, and vanilla Mastodon might ignore some features or configurations specific to Glitch.See if you can recreate the issue in the PWA. While you have a web page of mstdn dot social open in your favorite browser (Safari if you're using iPhone bc they don't allow other browsers to add to home), click your browser menu and select 'Add to home screen.'

@stux What I'm really impressed by is that Hetzner only charges 1EUR per TB, while DigitalOcean charges 10USD for that same amount and I think Azure / AWS and Google Cloud charge 20USD or so per TB of data.

@stux use Hetzner baremetal servers. They have no traffic restrictions and you end up paying FAR FAR less than using their cloud.
