       Starting to find some other refugees that I “knew” from that other place.  Now I want to work out how to implement lists before it gets out of hand. But while I think I can create a list, neither of the apps I’ve tried “Mastodon” and “Metatext” (on IOS) seem to let me add people to them or easily use them. Is there a better app?

       Lists are supported natively on Pleroma and other Fediverse servers.

       @bnlawrence One thing I've noticed is that if I try to add someone to a list right after I followed them, it doesn't work. I get some kind of a 404 error in the lower left. In the Advanced Web UI. Oddly, it does work if you create a new list as you are adding them.Also, as far as I can tell you can't add someone to a list unless you are following them (not totally sure about that).

       @Bleyddyn Correct that you can only add people you follow. In my interface, from their profile there's a "..." menu with "Add or remove from lists". If you add them straight after you follow them then sometimes the server hasn't quite confirmed that you do follow them (especially if they're on a different server) so you get that 404 error. Trying again in a couple of minutes is usually fine.@bnlawrence

       @zeborah @bnlawrence Just found the bug report about this: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/19707Hopefully they find a software solution because me remembering to do it later is unlikely to happen. Somewhat of a moot point, though, since having to follow someone in order to have them on a list makes it not very useful to me.

I'm using FediLab on Android and it seems to automatically follow someone if I add them to a list but... Two things seem to make it wobbly. If the instance they're on is a bit overloaded and responding slowly, and if the account I'm trying to add to a list requires approval for follow requests.@zeborah @bnlawrence
