Today I was at the #MetropolitanMuseumOfArt. This is Paul Pourerâs kimono-inspired dress from la Belle Epoque. Before Chanel, Poiret liberated women from corsets by I troducing these kind of relaxed, drapery dresses.

This is another kimono-inspired dress I liked. The sailor-ish collar is so prettyđ (i donât see this style at all with modern clothingâŚexcept for some Japanese school girlsâ uniform). Circa 1920âs.

This is more recent dress by Issey Miyake. He knew how to work with materialsâŚspectacular. (Also a bit Halloweenesque.)

This one is by Hanae Mori from 1960âs. I love the contrast of orange, cream and subdued purple. Such a combinationâŚbut so elegant!!
