I have deactivated my twitter. As forecast and ... what the heck. Does anyone know what happens to the data/account once the re-activation period expired?

@Martin_NZIt gets sealed in an iron maiden, and buried in the center of a dying star in the centre of the galaxy 😋

@strypey Strong data security indeed. Beyond expectation. The dying star's name is Elonia btw -> I did my own research !

@Martin_NZSerious answer, I don't know. But I'm pretty sure no user data is ever deleted by a DataFarmer unless there are laws being enforced to make them. So I suspect it would form the core of a shadow profile on the former user.

@strypey Thank. Yes and I was aware that Big Data likely never delete anything for good, if a user deletes content or changes account details or anything. So on reflection I asked the wrong question. The question should have been "what is deleted account content good for and used for?".It just costs money to keep and back up, doesn't it?

Sorry if I was taking your question a bit too literally ;)@Martin_NZ> It just costs money to keep and back up, doesn't it?Yes, but I imagine companies that size get bulk discounts on that. Aside from the usefulness of shadow profiles in targeting ads to remaining users, they probably also make money selling it in ways that violate the spirit but not the letter of privacy laws and their own ToS. @strypey Yes and thanks and it is truly mind-boggling how Big Social can exploit their trusting users.And. If I only had a dollar for every time someone said to me "Sorry for taking you literally" .... :-)

@Martin_NZMaybe you hang out with a lot of my fellow neurodivergents. Apparently this is a common pattern for us ;)
