They keep using that talking point, but it's simply not true. The guy that coded Mastodon is a straight white guy. The alternative software Pleroma was originally developed by a straight porn site and was modernized by a TERF. All the biggest instances are run by right-wingers or (straight) pornographers. Vanilla Pleroma is only viable due to Alex Gleason's contributions and has gradually become outdated/obsolete since his departure.
