If you feel like it's going to be difficult to leave #Twitter, because that's where everyone's at, and there's not enough happening on other #socialmedia platforms for them to entertain you enough by giving you a constant feed of content and likes and shares, I have a very easy solution for that: make an account on each of the biggest platforms and start juggling between them. I can guarantee you there's going to be enough stuff for your brain to feel content.

@tikli absolutely, and this is what we did before fandom consolidated on tumblr. We all had XMPP accounts and various forum accounts and email and blogger and LJ and twitter and FFn. We were everywhere man.

@bloodwrites@fandom.ink @tikli@mastodon.online It was nice when specific forums had dedicated forums. Frankly I just wish there was that + artists mostly being on tumblr for ez tagging and archiving of cool art I like.But I think twitter is the worst platform of them all

@tikli but also by having a tumblr + pillowfort + mastodon + dreamwidth + whatever else you're covered when/if fandom *does* start to consolidate again.And it might not. But you'll find your own personal preference, or you'll find where your fave fandom hangs out.Fandom spreading out isn't a disaster. It's just the return to a way we've done it before. And it might even be healthier.

On that note there is a project that's in the works that seems to be the answer you want. https://www.bobaboard.com/They basically want to make a decentralized open source blogging/forum esque platform specifically for Fandom. I haven't heard much of it recently but I definitely think this would be a good thing

@Weeble@bungle.online @bloodwrites@fandom.ink This looks amazing! It's pretty much everything I've ever wanted from a wanted from a social media platform. Have you used it? It says they have an alpha server but it sounds like it's kind of a gated thing.
