One feature I'd like to see in future #fediverse software would be the addition of a default CW.This should be something that can be set at the server level or the user level and it would add a default CW to any post that doesn't already have one, even those coming in through federation.I think something like this would be possible in a future #Mastodon release if @Gargron okay'd it.#defaultCW

@pee_zombie @Gargron Perhaps it could be user configurable, but I'm not sure that's needed. I'd go with something simple like "No content description".The purpose would be to allow instances and users to hide un-CWd content without outright blocking it. It would let them turn each un-CWd post into an opt-in reading experience.

@jeffalyanak @Gargron hm, there's already an existing user setting for this, you feel like that's not enough? I can imagine an entire server wanting this in some cases but not sure

@pee_zombie @Gargron As far as I can tell there isn't a setting for this yet at the user _or_ server level. You can mark all media as sensitive, but nothing that I've found for adding a default CW.

@jeffalyanak @pee_zombie @Gargron Pleroma gas rewriting tools that allow this. Personally I think non-meaningful CWs are worse than no CWs and would likely mute anyone using such a thing.

@freakazoid @pee_zombie @GargronI don't think you understand the feature concept. This feature would be an option that an instance or user could enable to put an non-CWd messages behind a CW saying something like "No content description".If you didn't use the feature you would still see non-CW content as normal.

@freakazoid @pee_zombie @Gargron It would not force CWs on non-CW content for users who don't enable the feature.

@jeffalyanak @pee_zombie @Gargron I did understand what you were suggesting. But it means instead of simply not boosting that person I'd mute them. As for whether it'd help people who really want CWs, I can't say.

@freakazoid @pee_zombie @GargronSorry, I'm not sure I understand what you mean about not boosting someone. This feature wouldn't be publicly visible to other people.Other users wouldn't know that a user had enabled this feature. It simply affects how un-CWd posts appear to the user who enabled it.

@freakazoid @pee_zombie @Gargron If you mean that you wouldn't use this feature because you wouldn't boost non-CW content then that is okay because I think this should be an optional feature for those who need or want it.
