@RustyCrab Pretty sure there are no election results yet. Or rather, there are no senate and house majorities yet anyway…

@divVerent scrolling through mastadon threads is painful. You can't just read. Everything is hidden under a layer of "click to reveal".

@RustyCrab Looks like I’ve just learned that Pleroma has a somewhat nice solution here: it doesn’t support content warnings, just “subjects”, and expands them by default. However you can configure them to be always collapsed if that’s your preference.Apparently history of this is here: https://github.com/w3c/activitypub/issues/232 - Mastodon repurposed the summary field for this purpose because it was there. The issue here is just, you can’t tell people to use CWs because not all clients call them CWs. Kinda annoying. Correct would be “use the summary field”, but clients don’t expose that name either. In Misskey the feature is called “hide content”, which is at least more discoverable.

@divVerent @RustyCrab A subject field makes way more sense. Just use it how you like

@coolboymew @RustyCrab Yeah, it’s just annoying that using it makes others have to expand multiple times.Might make sense to have some additional features there, e.g. expanding for an entire thread (client could remember the threads where a subject was “opened” - or even, for supporting “actual” CW usage, remember the exact subject strings that have been opened before so you’ll never have to open the same warning again).

@divVerent @RustyCrab I think Pleroma extends these by default. I imagine it's the other way around for Mastodon?

@coolboymew @RustyCrab Basically yes. Which is an odd case of fragmentation.
