@asie @izaya @starshine Interestingly I miss one thing in Misskey because of which I am currently trying out a Pleroma instance: it has no good Android apps.Change my mind please :) Subway Tooter and Milktea kinda were OK but crashed all the time, and otherwise I found no Misskey app that worked at all.

@BigSkyRider @Krez @bitcoinliberty That Oregon law is even harmless. In Massachusetts you can't have a gun unless you have three Republican friends, as no Democrat will ever give you a "reference letter".So... very unlikely SCOTUS will do something here if the MA thing still stands.

@BigSkyRider @bitcoinliberty @Krez Not everyone affected is a Citizen. Permanent Residents e.g. face much harsher consequences if they get on the bad side of the cops. And of course, even in theory, a MA citizen can't obtain a gun without a permit because nobody in MA will _sell_ it to them. Privatized law enforcement is never a good thing...

@BigSkyRider @bitcoinliberty @Krez As said, any seller in MA who doesn't verify permit ends up in jail, and they don't want to. That's rather effective. Privatized law enforcement. The Constitution is not worth anything against private entities. And even worse, even if you do obtain an unregulated gun (e.g. a muzzleloader) - without a permit, you're not gonna get any powder. I guess you can make your own...

@BigSkyRider @bitcoinliberty @Krez The 3D printing route alone costs easily a few thousand bucks. Driving across state lines and buying stuff there is cheaper though, but you'd still be spending hours on the driving alone. And as said, you need a property in the millions to safely shoot "illegally" on it without having cops sent to you (or be prepared to sit in jail for months until you finally get to show 12 "liberal" jurors the Constitution, who never seen that thing before and will ignore it, then repeat at a higher instance till you're at the SCOTUS, who'll then most likely simply refuse to take the case).Or you just move out of the state, thereby making it even bluer. That works too and is more fun than being a martyr.

@RustyCrab Pretty sure there are no election results yet. Or rather, there are no senate and house majorities yet anyway…

@RustyCrab @ins0mniak What's so bad about setting a content warning?Wait, I see what: Pleroma doesn't seem to have a button for it... ;) So this CW-enforcement is basically Pleroma discrimination.

@RustyCrab Looks like I’ve just learned that Pleroma has a somewhat nice solution here: it doesn’t support content warnings, just “subjects”, and expands them by default. However you can configure them to be always collapsed if that’s your preference.Apparently history of this is here: https://github.com/w3c/activitypub/issues/232 - Mastodon repurposed the summary field for this purpose because it was there. The issue here is just, you can’t tell people to use CWs because not all clients call them CWs. Kinda annoying. Correct would be “use the summary field”, but clients don’t expose that name either. In Misskey the feature is called “hide content”, which is at least more discoverable.

@coolboymew @RustyCrab Yeah, it’s just annoying that using it makes others have to expand multiple times.Might make sense to have some additional features there, e.g. expanding for an entire thread (client could remember the threads where a subject was “opened” - or even, for supporting “actual” CW usage, remember the exact subject strings that have been opened before so you’ll never have to open the same warning again).

@revmagdalen @fluffy @WaywardRanger @sim Sure. Feel free to move your community anywhere you like. Just, different places have different established rules. Adhere to them, or open up an entire new place for your community. Both are fine.Just don't force your rules on others. As simple as that.

@Aravosis As for CWs, it’s everyone’s own call. At the same time, anyone who objects to your use or non-use can mute you - that’s their call. Instances can have their own rules about that as well, and could even defederate instances that don’t follow them - that’s their call as well - but few do, as there is indeed no big agreement on CW usage for “mere politics” (not the particularly hot topics, where CWs are more “usual”, but just stuff like results).Let’s just all try to get along.
