       It’s great that NZ is committed providing funds for loss and damage caused to Pacific nations by climate change. But unless NZ and other high-emitting nations are also reducing emissions the loss and damage will keep on increasing. Loss and damage payments alone are like frantically mopping up the bathwater on the floor without turning off the emissions tap.        @nickofnz I’d like to see an explicit policy commitment to welcome and house #ClimateRefugees with a particular focus on our Pacific neighbours, tied in with a 20y roadmap on how they plan to do it, including infrastructure investment budgeting. But then, I’m wacky that way.
