A reminder to all: while today is Election Day in the United States, it is not Election Day everywhere, and if you are not interested (either because you live outside the US, or you just don't want to read about it) you can use the Filter function to mute words like "vote", "election", etc.People posting about the election could also use the Content Warning (CW) function to hide the text of their posts.Either way, remember to be excellent to each other, whether you're voting or not or can't.

Following on to the filter suggestion:- if you uncheck "whole word" when specifying a word to filter, it will function as a stem - so "vote" would also match "voted", "votes", but not "voting"- you can now specify multiple words in one filter- you can set an expiration date on filters, in case you only want to, say, filter election talk this week but hear about it at other timesFilters are a very flexible system here on Mastodon. Take advantage of them to create the feed you want.
