       @smaecks@chaos.social That used to be a thing before relays existed. Those bot accounts just mass-follow every user they encounter, to receive new posts by those users to discover even more users etc. In the end your federated timeline will be far more active due to the mass-follows.But nowadays there's essentially no need for them, since relays exist.

       @foxhkron @smaecks some admins still don't know what relays are.also don't recommend approving such bots. They are public and controlled by practially random people and will scrape your followers only posts, making this feature useless.
