What on earth is going on with disc-space in Macs? I am looking for a refurbished Mac on https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/refurbished/mac and NOT ONE available model has more than 256 Gb of SSD. This at a time when you can buy a 2 Tb internal SSD for £100.

@ScottHartman not quite. The Apple Tax is why it costs so very much to buy a new Mac with decent memory and storage. But the near-total nonexistence of refurbished models seems to be saying something different ... that people (other than me) just don't WANT a lot of storage in 2022. I guess all the cool kids keep everything in the cloud?

@mike @ScottHartman It's not that people don't want more storage, it's that the people who *do* want more storage have other ways to get it. External Hard Drives are a thing, and you can get one that's not physically bulky. If this was a decade ago, I'd tell you to "just buy something other than a Mac," but the reality is that most laptops are built to work with Windows, which is today just as bad. You really should look into laptops you can install Linux on.
