       Hey #newhere people. Welcome one and all. Here's a bit of a tip You might see some of us refer to this place as Fedi or the Fediverse. This is because this network is more than just Mastodon. It's also pixelfed, peertube, writefreely, bookwyrm. and too many others to mentiom and those are just the spaces which are immedatly adjacent e.g on the ActivityPub network. There's also the Hypergrid for all the metaverse fans, Tildeverse and pubnixes, Geminispace. And that's just the new stuff IRC is still alive and kicking as are listservs and forums. The open internet is alive and well, and it's powered by all of us. So I urge you to travel around a bit find things you like. Don't just stay on Mastodon island.Have fun
