       @cwebber  I think the difference is you can go to sites such ashttps://socialhub.activitypub.rocks/and discuss how the Fediverse is developed, and be part of the processes that can make it better.

       @cwebber Reminds me that some years back I wanted to create a throwaway joke account on twitter and… couldn't because it wanted a phone number right after I registered.And wouldn't be a surprise to me that other gatekeeping methods like captcha just force people to look for alternatives even if they wouldn't go there in the first place.
