My mum arrived back from a 2 month visit with family back in Canada. We've got a big family there, I've got like 40+ cousins/second cousins etc. Hearing stories of family from my mum definitely made that distance between NZ and Canada feel light-years apart. Not being around for the good times and tough times is a kind of loss I reckon.

@mikeythenurse relatable in a way. I don't know what my cousins are up to but it definitely feels far away and sad

@smollestbunny Turns out one of my cousins, who flies planes to northern Canadian communities had to emergency land/crash and it took a few days to locate him!

@smollestbunny Yeah wild eh! But now the ptsd from the experience means he's struggling to keep working and developed total alopecia as a result.
