       @dantheclamman Do you take requests? I've heard some depressing things about zebra mussels in the Finger Lakes, NY. I don't know how broad your expertise is in bivalves generally.

       @inspired zebra mussels and quagga mussels are both notorious for sticking to hulls and getting carried between bodies of water! Once established they re-engineer sediment to exclude other species and completely change nutrient cycling through their highly efficient filtering! They also cause millions in damage to aqueducts and canals! This is why many places now require boat checks and rigorous cleaning before entry.
