Thinkpads are overrated :blobcat0_0:Just get a $200 used office Dell laptop off of Ebay or even Amazon if you don't want to refurbish it yourself.Great value, probably better quality then the modern thinkpads (they've gotten pretty bad), all the enterprise stuff, trackpoint, everything but better!

@Linux_in_a_Bit We should learn how to at least know what we need from a computer.I think lots of waste would be saved this way.

@Linux_in_a_Bit Absolutely.I've grew up with people that fix TVs and then computers. They're very expensive where I live.Seeing how it is a major conflict in the US was quite a culture shock.

@Linux_in_a_Bit this is true.Older Dells are usually a similar quality once you hit a certain year mark, and frankly they're just as easy to maintain and repair in most regards.Whichever is available; it'll often serve just fine regardless.

@Linux_in_a_Bit I actually switched from my broken thinkpad to dell because I got one for free.With 16GB of ram and a fairly recent cpu it works great so far.And my must have criteria, the trackpad is also there!The only thing botherin me, is that the sata slot is blocked by the m2 slot, so 2 disks are not easily possible
