It's great we have a big influx of users and all, but let's not keep mentioning the ol' birbsite all the time, eh? Maybe CW that shizz as a lot of us came here to get away from it.

@nigeldgreen Or maybe just stop mentioning it except when relevant.#TwitterMigration is another false front anyway. Everyone claims to leave, just like they swore they would move to Canada if the Cheeto Benito was elected, but they never do anything. They're more fat modern armchair whiners who will amount to nothing like the rest of the population.

@amerika it's never relevant. I don't care what paper people read, I care what they think.

@nigeldgreen True, but it might be relevant if we are discussing you-know-what as a market force or political force in our we-live-in-a-society. That type thing.

@amerika fair point. Have not seen a post of that nature in the last few days of Mass Migration though. Also, would be good to keep the arguments abstracted as that particular site ( and that particular bell-end) are really a symptom to discuss, not a cause

@nigeldgreen I cannot resist cause/effect arguments. I tend to think of social media as a symptom of smartphones and the entertainment audience coming online. But each one is its own design, and sometimes the strengths need to be pointed out, although I will say that I prefer the Fediverse to, uh, you know, that other site.
