whenever twitter makes a bunch of its users angry we get a new wave of activity on the federal verse and all the new mastodon users engage in the primary hobby of a new mastodon user, which is listing all of the reasons why mastodon doesn't work. it's real fun

yeah I know my car's got a window that don't roll all the way up and I have to replace the wall of packing tape that covers the gap every other month. still driving it, though.

@rootsworks People don't understand distributed or federates systems. It's crazy how people can't even get their heads around it ... the same people who don't understand that not all e-mail is gmail.People just want things to be perfect and work; they don't want to put in the effort or have the desire of 90s Internet citizens: to talk to strangers. To take it all in.No one is really exploring or surfing the web now. They want everything curated, and made safe. Same with the big instances.

@battlepenguin @rootsworks Well but the internet in the 90s didn't get used by non nerds... So you are laughing about Gmail users but well they just use it. They don't give a fuck about the technology behind. And for me this is perfectly fine. We should take the problems seriously and not make fun of it. In the end the fediverse is in its current state interesting but has its problems for normal users.
