       @seth_abrutyn Lots of new people seem to be posting heavily without first bothering to look and see what is already here and how people are already using it.Mastodon and its relatives are very different in important functiontal ways from Twitter. One of the biggest is that you "automatically" receive very little ― it's very much opt in, and you are meant to / essentially have to go looking for people to follow. Then you get to look out their windows.
