@sullybiker My favourite part is them thinking that there’s gonna be a flood of people coming to Fedi when most of them will create an account and softly let it die after a few days, if not hours.

@Platinum It doesn’t really matter. Some people will not be able to adapt, others won’t like us or think we’re too weird, and only a minority will chill and stay. I was one of these in 2017.It’s like people don’t even remember how many waves have come and gone. (I’m talking about both the optimistic and the xenophobic.) The most outrageous example I can remember was that of the lady who wrote the blog post about Mastodon being “like Twitter but without the nazis”. She abandoned her account less than a month later.The waves are part of Fedi. This one will pass, too. We don’t have to do anything. Just enjoy the show while it lasts.@sullybiker

@sullybiker Exactly. The only reason why they may not already be here is that they didn’t know about Fedi yet. That was my particular case.In the end, it’s just a matter of principle, I think. If you share the principles of Fedi, you’ll stay; if you don’t, or don’t care about them, you won’t.@Platinum
