Two weeks away from starting a new job, and it'll be the first time I've on-boarded fully remotely, and with a team of completely new people in about...20 years? :) Any tips for helping to smooth out the first few weeks from those of you who've gone through this recently? #remotejobs

@jefmes Last two jobs I started remotely:* You may find your inbox full on Day 1, spend an hour going through it to see what is important and what is stuff you've been added to and have been blasted with.* Setup up email filters as soon as possible.* If the platforms being used don't have an easy way of identifying someone's role/responsibilities, take notes until you start memorizing who does what.* Ensure meetings you're added to are important and won't pull you away from new-hire tasks.

@jefmes And most importantly: accept that you will likely be drinking from a firehose of information for a while. Don't feel bad for asking questions, but spend the time to learn where you can find the resources you will need so that you can become more self-sufficient later on. Everyone's started fresh with no institutional knowledge before, don't be nervous about asking others for help!
