@chileanbro >Monero-chan hentai...Well, of course it exists, but now I wonder why I haven't seen it.

@chileanbro My concern with Monero is that if their cryptography is ever cracked it will be a total disaster. EVERYTHING on the blockchain will suddenly become public knowledge. These sorts of algorithms are very new, and haven't been battle-tested. Due to the nature of Monero, it's impossible to implement any form of forward secrecy or something that would require the breaking of multiple different cryptographic algorithms.I'm not saying "don't use Monero" but don't rely solely on its anonymity if your life depends on it. If your life depends on hiding the source of Monero, send it through multiple different swappers (located in different jurisdictions) between other cryptocurrencies before swapping it back to Monero.(Obviously, access the swapper websites with Tor!)Personally, I'm skeptical of the claim that you can have a truly private and verifiable blockchain and hide all transactions indefinitely, but I'm not really qualified to judge.

@ThighHighSock @chileanbro Eventually everything will somehow get cracked, however Monero is constantly improving their tech. They already have plans to include quantum resistant algorithms and other things.

@lolicon @chileanbro The issue is, if it's on the blockchain then the exploit can be used *retroactively*, for EVERY SINGLE TRANSACTION that has EVER been made on Monero. The damage that a vulnerability in say, disk encryption software can have is limited becauseA. You need physical access to the device.B. If the devices' encryption software is updated, the vulnerability no longer exists.Monero creates a hive of extremely valuable data if/when it gets cracked.

@ThighHighSock @chileanbro Indeed, retroactive attacks are a thing - but as the coins keep moving, this information becomes less relevant.
