       Are there any ebook readers (ideally using e-ink for that paper-like feel) that aren't tied to any big corporation? I'd like to get one but my library are PDFs and EPUBs read through Calibre, not some Amazon account or whatever.

       @meeper @cirno Seconding the kobo. Load it up with whatever you want. I would also recommend checking out https://koreader.rocks/Gets some additional functionality out of the device and is opensource!

       @wdavery @cirno I got a new kindle and was gonna root and install koreader on it but the stupid thing updated even in airplane mode
