Manufacturers are experimenting with #advertisment displayed in built-in #car navigation systems. This is so going to be fun when you don't purchase the supreme ad-free addition. Perhaps routing along some kind of shops avoiding other discounters? #privacy https://www.golem.de/2209/168416-345748-345747_rc.jpghttps://www.golem.de/news/4-screen-kaufland-blendet-werbung-ins-auto-navi-ein-2209-168416.html

@spaetz even when you do purchase the supreme ad-free edition, who is to say that the TOS won't include language that allows them to enable ads on it in the future?

@craftyguy true that. The inverse of "If you don't pay for the product you are the product" is not necessarily true unfortunately.Just because you pay for a service is no guarantee that they rip off and sell your data anyway.

@spaetz Heh, when I got my last car, the built in nav system was garbage. I just ended up swapping out the radio for an aftermarket one and I took out the fuses that powered the cellular devices.
