@elacheche I'm not sure why the kernel, Linux is shown alongside OS's, but that kernel is proprietary software, plus all of those OS's have at least some relation to proprietary software.Slackware: Contains the proprietary xv image viewing software plus a bunch more stuff.Arch, Ubuntu, Fedora, Suse, Red Hat: Uses a proprietary version of Linux, plus offers proprietary software.Debian: At least it doesn't ship proprietary software out of the box, but they recommend and support it and are now voting whether they should ship proprietary software out of the box much harder or a bit less harder.I could keep going, but there's little point, as all are proprietary in some way.The conclusion I've reached is that "open source" is just another name for proprietary software.

@elacheche Actually yes, but not as much as GNU/Linux-libre.The endgame is GNU/Hurd once the few missing things are added.

@elacheche Yes, few.The ones I know off the top of my head are:- AMD64 support- Multiprocessing- Non-generic video card support (maybe with a DRM implementation so Linux drivers can be reused)- Usb support and maybe enhanced ethernet NIC support.Once those few things are fixed, the rest of the GNU software should compile (a large amount of GNU software currently compiles) and GNU/Hurd will be able to replace GNU/Linux mostly.
