       A few years ago, I gave a retired neighbor an old laptop with Linux installed. They just needed something to do email and web stuff. One day they called and asked me how to update their system. I tried to walk them through the GUI updater for their DE, which was difficult because I was on a different setup. They were confused by the menus and controls.Finally, I just told them how to open a terminal and update from the CLI. That clicked. Not a ringing endorsement of modern UI design. 😛
