       It saddens me that most of the staff now within IT Disti (Distribution) are just 'Order Fillers'; they have no clue what you are asking for, which is why they want part numbers so they can simply type that in, and hopefully, the database will throw it up on their screen!I asked for a cheap price on a 2nd-hand M700. I even said, "I need a Mini PC" what do they come back with? An 8300 SFF!

       @dekkzz78 The problem is, in the race to drive prices down whereby consumers and businesses want everything, if not cheap but for next to nothing, suppliers then look to cut costs wherever possible, so if you can get away with having a semi-trained monkey just punching numbers into a keypad that's what you're gonna do.

       @dick_turpin ii'm used to it now in auto sector, OEM tech centres used to be staffed by product specialists, now it's mainly cheap new grads who know jack all relying on a few senior engineers who actually know stuff.
