       Last night in #Vrsar #Istria we had a talk with some local people on our evening walk. These are people in their late 50ties with 2 grown children with university degrees. Both of the children although working in their field can not afford to buy an apartment or similar, because the foreigners are buying everything up and driving prices to hights you can not believe. Yet another country where people wish they didn’t join the #europeanunion. #capitalism sucks.

       @anonimno if there will be no foreigners buying apartments, there will be now incentives for construction industry and no jobs for their children

       We have seen the same in #Sarajevo as well, where visiting #Bascarsija felt like going to a cheap bazaar with sweets from #Turkey and knock-off bags from #China. #bosniaandherzegovina is not part of the #europeanunion, so other foreigners are buying up all the real estate and molding the country so that it fit’s the capitalist need for mass tourism. There is no room for authentic culture, because the local politicians only want to be bribed and there are enough of foreigners eager to do this.

       @don Strange way of seeing things. So they children should do the manual hard work of building the villas for the foreigners to buy and enjoy? Sounds like colonialism.
