It is such a pleasure to reduce app and browser clutter and use #emacs for #matrix, #mastodon and #rss. I guess shifting out from Discord and Thunderbird will be next :-). #emacsforeverything

@5uie1 #mu4e has been working very well as my mail client! Though I've heard #Notmuch works pretty well. I would like to have some replacement for Discord, unfortunately they are very against third party clients. The best workaround I've found is to run it through #Bitlbee and connect through #ERC, but that is very limited... Let me know if you find a better way, please!

@eqf00 I understand why Electron is popular for cross-platform applications, but I dislike Electron itself as it hogs resources and allows for zero customization. I am currently using Discord in the browser. How is the bitlbee-discord workaround? As I need to be able to do video calls and share screen through Discord.

@5uie1 Unfortunately I think it won't be enough for you. The Bitlbee brigde allows to use Discord as an IRC server, so no fancy features. Only messages. With Discord in particular I find that only its browser interface is usable on Linux.
