       Smoke is starting to lay back down, settling on the ground. While not optimal for our lungs it is a great thing for the fire. It only gained 1000 acres yesterday thanks to this phenomenon. Just to build on what CW said: The fire to our north has cooled somewhat. Crews spent that time widening the already cut fire breaks in the Taylor Creek scar. Looking at their containment map, there are fire breaks and large swaths of burned land btwn the fire and us.
